TABLES

Tables will be made randomly by player ability per your NJ Canasta Club registration (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced)

Each table will deal and play four rounds. You start by melding at 125. After the completion of each round, your team will meld based on the score, at the appropriate meld requirement, the same as if you were playing regular canasta.

0-2999 meld at 125 points

3000-4999 meld at 155 points

5000 and above meld at 180 points

When the four rounds are completed, you will record your total score on your individual score sheet. Partners should be recording the same score on their score sheets. Scoring will be checked by tournament officials. If there is a discrepancy on the recorded scores for partnerships, the lower score will be used.

Please check with your partner that your total score for the round match with each other before you move to another table.

At the completion of the round, you will move to another table and play with a different partner against two different opponents.

You will again deal the cards and play four rounds and repeat prior instructions.

Each deal should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Four deals at a table should take about an hour or less.

At one hour, time will be called, and rounds must end immediately. If you did not get a chance to complete all four rounds, only the total score for the rounds completed will be recorded. An uncompleted round will not be scored and counted toward the total points.

Tournament officials will ensure that play ends after one hour.

When your table finishes the round, please refrain from chatting as a group while others are still playing. If you are finished playing, you can use the restrooms or get a refreshment while the others finish. Otherwise, please remain seated and quiet.
